About Anna Shekhvatova

Atochka is a contemporary artist born in Ukraine and currently based in Luxembourg. She works with oil, acrylic, and watercolor, exploring perception, inner transformation, and the relationship between internal states and external reality. Before fully committing to her artistic practice, Atochka had a professional background in business and academia, teaching economics at the university level. Drawing had always been an essential part of her life, but a decisive shift toward art occurred in her early thirties, when she began formal training in drawing and watercolor under the guidance of a private mentor. She later continued her studies at the Odessa Art College. In 2022, following the outbreak of the war in Ukraine, Atochka relocated to Luxembourg. This transition marked a significant turning point in her practice, leading to a deeper and more focused engagement with painting. Since then, her work has become increasingly introspective, emphasizing presence, attention, and subtle emotional states.Atochka’s paintings move between figurative and abstract forms, often referencing nature, landscape, and symbolic imagery. Through layered color, rhythm, and gesture, her work invites the viewer to slow down and reconsider the quiet moments where meaning and beauty emerge, regardless of circumstance.
